Sprague Trail Day - Culver Connector September 13, 2025 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Sprague Brook Park This is a special one... WNYMBA invites you to join us in a trail building day at Sprague Brook. We'll work on building a trail that connects Tim's trail up to the warming hut and entrance to the Bridge and XC Loop Trails. This will allow hikers and riders to bypass the road and keep on the trails. This trail building day is especially meaningful because we are naming this new trail the Culver Connector in honor of Greg Culver. Greg was a long-time member of WNYMBA, a rider, friend, leader, racer, and the creative genius behind Hot Wings Designs. For a decade, Greg worked as the WNYMBA trail steward for Sprague Brook Park. Many of the trails and improvements at the park are a direct result of his love and devotion to WNY trails. His work at Holimont also later spurred Holimont Parks, the only bike lift service in WNY. Our trails and local riding scene would not be what they are today without you, Greg. Thank you. You will never be forgotten. Trail Day Details: The park has given us a great start by using machinery to break ground on a portion of the trail. Now, the real work begins! We’ll need to bench cut a section of the new trail. WNYMBA will supply tools but if you have your own bench cutting tools (like a Rogue Hoe or Pulaski), please bring them along. Every tool helps us work more efficiently! What to Bring: - Bench cutting tools - Sturdy boots - Durable work gloves - Water & Snacks Meetup Location: Sprague Brook, Shelter 2 Post Trail Work: We'll have pizza after the trail work, during the membership meeting, back at Shelter 2. https://www.facebook.com/events/743395891807174/ See more details - Fall General Membership Meeting
