Join the ladies of WNYMBA for a Women in the Woods Trail Work Day at Darien. Lend a hand to maintain the trails you love!

DETAILS:
Meet at 9:30 for pre-work announcement, and we'll head out to our work locations at 10:00. We'll work until 1:00 and then head back to the parking lot for lunch and beverages. If you have one, bring a chair so you can relax!
We'll be working together to clear brush, repair tread, and keep our shared trails in top shape. No experience necessary, and all tools will be provided.

- Durable work gloves
- Water & Snacks
PARKING LOCATION:
Meet at the Route 20 Parking lot.
This is a great opportunity to:

Darien Trail Work Day: Start the Connector TrailMay 10, 9:30amDarien Lakes State Park - Broadway LotJoin the WNYMBA at Darien Lakes State Park in making trail magic happen!
We're excited to kick off construction of Singletrack Trail 1 (ST-1), the missing piece that will eventually complete the loop at Darien (and yes, it will be getting a new name!)
This construction event will focus on starting the connector trail portion of ST-1.
This is your chance to be part of building a fantastic new multi-use trail that will enhance the experience for hikers, bikers, and all outdoor enthusiasts.
ST-1 will wind through the park's beautiful landscape, connecting Oz and Shotgun Ridge to create a more seamless and enjoyable flow for everyone.

Time:
09:30 am - Meet for briefing
10:00 am - Trail Work Starts
Location:
Route 20 Trailhead Parking Area, Darien Lakes State Park
What to Expect:
- This will be a trail building day, not maintenance, so we will need folks to clear corridor, lop weeds, dig trail, and bench cut when necessary.
- Lunch served after trail work.
- Group ride if conditions and weather cooperate!

12 years ago we worked on the Thunder Run single track loop as part of the Art Rosco trail system. It was cold and snowy but we still had a dedicated crew out there!
